The Underground-Optimised Variant of the BBC 120F Series

While the RMT 120F is primarily used for surface drilling, the RMT 120FZ is engineered and specified for underground applications — differing in a few key parts and the retainer locking system to suit the demands of longer underground operations. All other major components and spare parts are identical and fully interchangeable between the two models.

Weighing 71.5 kg, the 120FZ delivers the same core performance — 35 Hz impact rate, 7.2 kW maximum impact power, 210 RPM rotation speed, and 167 l/s (354 cfm) air consumption at 6-7 bar.

Its hole capacity extends to 51-64 mm (up to 30 metres depth) and 64-89 mm (up to 15 metres), with R32, R38 and T38 drill rod compatibility.

Like its sibling model BBC 120F, it also comes with the eight-pawl, rifle-bar rotation motor and remote-controlled reversible rotation.

The RMT 120FZ iis built only to work only for the most demanding underground drilling — long hole drilling, ring drilling, face drilling and drifting in underground mines, grouting holes for surface mining, and construction tunnelling.

Difference between BBC 12FZ and BBC 120F Pneumaric Drifter
