Where the DKR 36 is Used

The DKR 36 is a combo drill/hammer. It means you can use this tool for both making holes and for chipping and breaking concrete. Being lightweight and small, it's a favourite tool for the workers to work in tight, awkward, or hard-to-reach spaces where big machines cannot fit or be used.

The DKR 36R (8463 0103 50) requires low feed force, thus making it suitable to use for underwater repair jobs. The diver does need to push hard to make the tool work, as the piston of the DKR 36 generates enough localised impact energy to break hard granite and concrete without the need for any external forces.

Along with this, the round shank allows the user to withdraw the chisel or moil if it gets stucked during operation.

a. Construction and Building Renovation

• • Installing anchor bolts: - Heavy steel beam or solid hard concrete, DKR 36, can be used for quick small hole drilling jobs for locking bolts in place.
• • Running Pipes and Cables: - This tool can be used to chip in walls to make channels to fit the electric cables or water pipes.

b. Underwater and Marine Repair

• • Fixing underwater bridge pillars: - The seawater damages the concrete pillars supporting the bridges. The DKR 36 is used underwater to chip the old and cracked concrete so that it can be repaired by pouring fresh and strong concrete.
• • Ship Dock Repairing:- This pneumatic rotary drill can be used underwater for the repairing of boat docks for drilling holes underwater in boat docks to install new dock anchors or rope hooks.
• • Round Shank: - The DKR 36R comes with a round shank. Thus, while working underground, when the point or the bit gets stuck, the operator can simply rotate the entire tool around the stuck bit to make it free.

If the bit gets stuck with the hex shank, the bit cannot move inside the tool as it is locked due to the hexagonal bushing. If tried forcefully to twist, it may damage the tool or the bit, or the operator may even get injured.

Due to this, the DKR 36 with a round shank is more preferred for underwater operations as the users have less visibility and flexibility to move. Thus, they need the tool to be flexible.

• • Rock Splitting: - DKR 3R is used to make small holes in massive rock bolts. Several small holes are made in a straight line, and after that mechanical wedges (rock splitters) are used to split the giant rock in two perfect halves.

d. General demolition and chipping jobs

• The DKR 36 can also be used for masonry and repair jobs where lightweight chipping hammers are required.
