• BBD 15E — Uses a standard stepless throttle lever located on the backhead, similar to RH 571 and RH 658.
• BBD 15ET — The "T" represents Trigger. The trigger is attached directly in the handle grip and is designed for vertical-down drilling with precise start-stop control.

The major difference between BBD 15E and BBD 15ET is the type of throttle. Choosing between both models depends on the drilling application, operator preference and the required level of control.

1. Reduced Operator Fatigue: For continuous and deep drilling, the trigger in the handle like the ET model requires constant manual pressure. However, the BBD 15E trigger can be set to the "ON" position like a switch, allowing the operator to continue drilling without continuously holding the trigger.
2. Simple Mechanism: The BBD 15E uses a simpler throttle mechanism, requiring fewer components and reducing maintenance requirements compared to the BBD 15ET.

Conversion of BBD 15E to BBD 15ET

If you already have a BBD 15E tool, it can be converted into a BBD 15ET. Since both models share the same internal architecture, cylinder and motor specifications, the conversion requires replacement of selected components.

To execute this modification, the official OEM Trigger Conversion Kit (Part Number: 8311 0104 95) is required.

The conversion kit contains:

1. A new handle housing with spring-loaded dead-man trigger mechanism integrated into the cross-grip.
2. Trigger valve plunger assembly and internal air-routing seals/bushings.
3. Modified backhead assembly block to bypass the old stepless lever path.

OEM Availability

RMT supplies the BBD 15E only as the original, genuine Atlas Copco tool. There is currently no RMT-manufactured aftermarket equivalent available for this model.
